Lauren Barette is a passionate, bicoastal dancer, singer, actress, and choreographer. She began her training at the Los Angeles Ballet Academy and attended summer intensives with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and San José Ballet.

Lauren earned her B.A. in Dance from UCLA. After college, she became a Jazz and Contemporary Trainee with the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City and completed On-Camera Acting courses at the T. Schreiber Studio. She continues to train daily at STEPS on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, Peridance, Brickhouse, Millennium Dance Complex, and Playground L.A., studying jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, contemporary, tap, and street jazz.

Lauren’s theatre credits include Legally Blonde (Margot), Redheads (Ensemble), Lincoln’s of Springfield (Sarah/Ensemble), Footloose (Ensemble), and Jagged Little Pill (Dance Captain/Ensemble). She made her Off-Broadway debut in the original musical opera The Final Veil The cast of Footloose at the Colony Theatre received a Stage Scene LA Award for “Outstanding Dance Ensemble.”

Her on-camera work includes appearing in SZA’s “T-Shirt” music video and being featured as a principal in the Disney 70th Excite National Commercial.

Lauren made her Off-Broadway choreographic debut in 2023 with Romeo and Juliet: Tribal Rock directed by William Electric Black, followed by Frankenstein at Theatre for the New City.

In addition to her performance and choreography work, Lauren proudly serves as Associate Producer of Broadway’s Chryssie Whitehead’s In My Own Little Corner, a musical dedicated to normalizing conversations around mental wellness.
