Lauren Barette is a passionate, bicoastal dancer, singer, actress, and choreographer. She began her dance training at a young age at the Los Angeles Ballet Academy. During High School, she participated in the summer intensive programs with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and San José Ballet. Lauren attended college at UCLA where she received a B.A. in dance. She also performed and choreographed for the student lead organization “Synthesis Dance Theatre”.

Post college, Lauren was a Joffrey Ballet School Jazz and Contemporary Trainee. She also attended courses in “On Camera Acting” at the T Schreiber Studio in NYC. She continues to take private vocal lessons with Rachel Cohen McKenna and dances daily at STEPS, Broadway Dance Center, Peridance, Brickhouse, Millennium Dance Complex, and Playground L.A. training in jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, contemporary, tap, and street jazz.

Lauren has performed in regional theaters across the U.S. (LEGALLY BLONDE, RED HEADS, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS) and has made her off Broadway debut in the original musical opera, THE FINAL VEIL. She can also be seen in the SZA music video “T-Shirt” and portrayed the role of Sarah Lincoln in the original musical, LINCOLNS OF SPRINGFIELD, at the Hoogland Center of the Arts in Springfield, Illinois. Lauren most recently performed in the dance ensemble of FOOTLOOSE at the Colony Theatre Directed by Barry Pearl and Co-Directed and Choreographed by Michelle Elkin. This dance ensemble received a “Scenie” award from Stage Scene LA for “Outstanding Dance Ensemble.”

Lauren made her off Broadway choreographer debut in 2023 with ROMEO AND JULIET TRIBAL ROCK directed by William Electric Black and she choreographed, FRANKENSTEIN at The Theatre For The New City.

Lauren is also proudly associate producer of Broadway’s Chryssie Whitehead “IN MY OWN LITTLE CORNER; MY MOODS, MY MOM & ME”. The mission of this musical is to normalize conversations around mental wellness.
